Three magazine employees head out on an assignment to interview a guy who placed a classified ad seeking a companion for time travel.

For those of you who are interested Safety not guaranteed was inspired by a 1997 Backwoods Home Magazine classified ad written as a joke filler by Backwoods employee John Silveira.

There was a major awkward quality brought to the performances of all of the lead actors. In the beginning, this awkwardness might rub you the wrong way, like it did with me. However, if you persevere they will manage to win you over the sense of realism that their awkward performances seem to bring. Though to be honest I am not sure if I would explore more of their work.
Although this movie does deal with time travel, Safety not guaranteed is not overtly a science fiction movie it actually has its feet firmly planted in romantic comedy territory.
