Lockout

Lockout

Directors James Mather & Stephen St. Leger
Staring Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace and Peter Stormare
Rated MA
Score 4/6

A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

I am not sure if remember even noticing if this one made it to the cinema, so as a possible direct to DVD feature Lockout has a brilliant and unique visual look to it, which is one of the benefits of a movie having two directors. The last time I remember watching a movie with two directors was about three years ago with Crank: High Voltage.
Lockout has a feel that could be described as mixture of Fortress 2 and The Rock. Though of course without the unconvincing visual effects that you got with Fortress 2.
I thoroughly enjoyed Joe Gilgun who gave a performance that came across as a psychotic three year old trapped inside a man’s body.
