Score 2.5/6

In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO.

Clocking in at just over an hour and a half Dredd a little padded in places and could possibly have been ten minutes shorter. Overall, the plot seemed to be a little stale and well used if you are after a similar movie that you will not run the risk of falling asleep in the middle of I would suggest that you would check the 2011 movie The Raid. I would also suggest that you check out either Punisher: War Zone or the 1989 release of The Punisher.
Despite the almost snail’s pace Dredd is only just palatable as an action movie. This was primarily because of slow motion effect during some of the action sequences. However, Lena Headey was a poor choice as the head villain of the movie as very little seemed was done to establish her as the psychotic she was supposed to be.
