Yogi Bear is pretty faithful to the feel of the original cartoons. Yogi and his side kick Boo Boo spend their days obsessing about swiping pic-a-nic baskets. Yogi goes to great lengths to get the food and considers himself to be, yes you guessed it,”smarter than the average bear”.Ranger Smith has to stop them. The story isn’t particularly deep; the meanie mayor is selling Jellystone Park and Ranger Smith, Rachel his love interest, Yogi, and Boo Boo have to find a way to save the day. Dan Ackroyd and Justin Timberlake are the voices of the bears and do a great impersonation, sounding true to the original cartoon.

Like I said, the story isn’t deep but I don’t recall Yogi Bear ever being deep. This is just clean wholesome family viewing. There was plenty of laughter coming from the little kids in the audience and it seemed to be a hit with the preschoolers. I think this was aimed at 3-7 year olds and nostalgic adults.
