Four friends go to a video store around midnight but through a twist of fate they become involved in a hostage situation.

This is a simple movie with average acting, Midnight 5 is one of those teen movies that falls into the trap of having having characters that come across as being that they have swallowed a dictionary and a thesaurus . However what makes Midnight 5 worthwhile watching is that it is an interesting insight into society’s attitude towards violence in the way that the majority are so ready to find somebody or something to blame.
