Based on a Japanese folk legend Goemon Ishikawa. Goemon Ishikawa leaves his fighting clan after its chief is murdered and uses his skills as a thief to help the poor. However, after learning the identity of his leader’s killer Goemon sets out on a bloody path of vengeance, joined by his loyal friend, Saizo.

This movie is amazing it combines elements of Robin Hood, The Three Musketeers and the ancient Greek legend of Pandora’s Box. There is some debate about the ultimate fate of Goemon Ishikawa so It should be noted that it appears a certain amount of creative liberty has been taken.
A lot of the action sequences seem to follow in the style which first came to main stream prominence in the 2000 movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Considering that, Goemon Ishikawa has been the subject of Kabuki plays and appeared in anime, manga and various computer games you will be proud to know that you are in for a visually spectacular movie. Fans of 300 should enjoy this movie.
