After trying to rescue a man on the subway tracks, two teens wake up in a room dominated by a mysterious black sphere that sends them to hunt down and kill aliens hiding on Earth.

This movie is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku. Considering that I am not familiar with the manga series I have to wonder is the movie as good as the manga? Unlike the legions of DC and Marvel comic book movies Gantz did not seem to have a lot of exposition. Though it was great that we were thrown into the action a little exposition would have gone a long way for those us unfamiliar with the source material. I have always been interested in how Asian cinema depicts violence on screen there always seems to be a different morals and Asian filmmakers almost seem willing to push things further then other filmmakers seem willing to go.
