Santa signs up to Australian Labour Agreement

With Christmas and with the New Year approaching here is something for you to think about for next year’s Christmas.
According to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) because of globalization and Santa Claus’ increased Christmas workload has lead him to establish an Australian base of operations and therefore he was forced to sign a labour agreement with DIAC.
A DIAC spokesperson commented that Elves are not on the list of approved occupations for the subclass 457 visa, permanent employer nomination scheme or regional sponsored migration scheme but Mr Claus was able to establish there was a genuine shortage of qualified elves here.
“Santa was also able to ensure his overseas recruitment of elves did not affect long-term improvement of employment opportunities for Australians, which is a key element of any labour agreement,” the spokesperson said.
