A vigilante homeless man pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city’s crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how – with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail.

It was clear from the start of the movie what Hobo with a Shotgun is paying homage to. Those of you out there how loved the Grindhouse movies: Death Proof and Planet Terror directed Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez probably have been waiting a while for Hobo with a Shotgun to be released to DVD.
This really does not try to hide the type of movie that it is, I’ll say this put the little ones to bed before pressing play on this one. Hobo with a shotgun openly embraces what could only be described as some seriously gratuitous violence of the highest order with open arms as if the violence is a long lost family member.
Both Gregory Smith and Nick Bateman where phenomenal as Slick and Ivan, I seriously think that I am going to have to make an effort to watch more of their work. While Molly Dunsworth brought an immense power to her role, which if treated differently could have been summed up with a series of Wilhelm screams.
For those of you out there who may have squeamish stomachs I highly recommend not to watch this movie after a large meal or before going to bed.
