OK, yes, this is just another ‘comic book’ movie and there are a lot of you out there who would leave this movie well alone based simply on that fact, I would not blame you. A lot of the other ‘comic book’ movies that have been released over the years have been very hit and miss because they come with a lot of baggage; the expectation of their fans. That expectation, never a bad thing has proved to be the downfall of some movies because the movies where unable to live up to the fans’ expectations.
There were no award winning performances from the cast of Cross. Who cares? It is not that kind of movie. Director Patrick Durham has given us what best described as an A-Grade beer and popcorn movie.
What I love about Cross is how it openly embraced what is to be a comic book. It is very evident in the way that director shot the movie. I believe that it should be noted that this technique has been used with greater success in the French Asterix & Obelix movie franchise.
