The Boondock Saints

Written & Directed by Troy Duffy
Staring Willem Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flanerry & Norman Reedus
Rated MA
Score 5/6

Fraternal twins set out to rid Boston of the evil men operating there while being tracked down by an FBI agent.

This movie has been described as being one that could have been directed by Quentin Tarantino, but Boondock Saints is pure Duffy. The way that the action was dealt with blew me away when i saw it. It is ashame that it had such a poor showing at the cinema. This was mainly due to do with the circumstance of the time when it was released.
The film grapples with the perennial question – does the end justify the means? Can killing be justified to rid the world of evil? The plot follows two brothers (Sean Patrick Flanerry & Norman Reedus) set about ridding Boston of evil men after what appears to be a message from god. They are pursued by an FBI agent (Willem Dafoe). Watch out for a cameo by Billy Connolly. Wither you see the Director’s cut or the Theatrical release this is a must see and a definite addition for any DVD collection
