A chef who loses his restaurant job starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.
On the face of it this is good movie and people who make a habit of watching cooking shows religiously are probably going to love this one. Admittedly this is a little clichéd but you kind of know this going into the movie so it really shouldn’t bother you to much.
I have probably only seen handful of movies that Jon Favreau has directed, but he really has delivered something that it is worth taking the time to sit down and watch either at your neighbourhood cinema or when it comes out on DVD. From what I have seen of his work as an actor Favereau has a tremendous amount of range and I really enjoyed Emjay Anthony’s performance.
This is the kind of movie that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling while watching it, has great music, great food and will possibly will make you want to go get something from the nearest food truck.
The only problem that I have with Chef is that the ending felt as if it was rushed because there to many plot points that needed to be resolved. Though I suppose if it was any longer the length of the movie would have drifted into the length that you would expect for most adventure-fantasy movies
