Which is the best restaurant in your city?

The writing prompt from the good people of Jetpack is ‘Which is the best restaurant in your city?’. Honestly? I don’t fricking know. I wish I did, but I don’t. The question is too broad to give definitive answers. i certainly know that I haven’t dined in restaurants that are critically regarded as the best. But of course I’ve had great food that I keep going back to.

In my book for a restaurant, to be the best restaurant, it’s not always about the best food but the best memories associated with a given restaurant. There’s a spot on the third floor of my local Westfield shopping centre where I ate dumplings for the first time. Are there other restaurants that might serve better dumplings? Possibly. But, because the people working at that spot suggested that I eat their dumplings with red vinegar sauce. I will only eat dumplings from that spot with red vinegar sauce. Why? I’ve been doing it for years.

A sign of a really great restaurant be it a Michelin Star restaurant or a food truck in a carpark at 3am in the morning their food should cause the stress in your body to fade away making you concentrate on what you are eating.
