As the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games commence, compelling new documentary Changing Track – finalist for Best Documentary at the 2026 ASC Media Awards – rides its way to Digital on Demand after a successful national cinema release in December.
Following completion of Changing Track, the three principal subjects of the film won big at The Cycling Track Championships in Rio De Janeiro. Korey Boddington won four individual gold medals, Emily Petricola won three gold and one bronze, taking Petricola’s career tally of world titles on the track to thirteen. Kane Perris and his partner Luke Zaccaria, meanwhile, took home a gold and two silver medals. Additionally, Korey Boddington was awarded the sport’s highest honour, the Sir Hubert Opperman Trophy for the 2025 Australian Cyclist of the Year. These stunning wins by Emily Petricola, Korey Boddington, Kane Perris and Luke Zaccaria make the home entertainment release for Changing Track even more significant. Changing Track primarily details the struggles and backstory of three athletes, as they prepare to qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympics. At age 27, Emily Petricola was in the grips of depression after a diagnosis of MS; teenager Korey Boddington lay in a coma after a motocross accident; and Kane Perris, born with Albinism, was suffering from the bitter effects of schoolyard bullying. Forced to confront their challenging situations, the trio discovers a powerful new ability in cycling, and a community that encourages them to focus on what they can do, rather than what they can’t.
A stunning and highly affecting documentary that will literally have you cheering, Changing Track is a film that everyone can relate to and is comparable to the groundbreaking Matildas: The World at Our Feet, which elevated the profile of Australia’s soccer team. Through its story of Emily, Kane and Korey, Changing Track does that for our champion Paralympians. “Many of us experience periods of depression, anxiety or darkness,” says Changing Trackdirector Tristan Kenyon. “Some of us will or have suffered an unexpected event that has significantly changed our life. Some of us might simply be stuck in a rut or feeling lost or directionless. Emily, Korey and Kane show us that anyone has the power to change track, find the right people and focus on what they love no matter what that may be or what life has yet to throw their way.”
