My Top Ten

What are your top ten favorite movies?

Yes this list is longer then 10 but its my list, i’ll make it longer if I want to. Personally I think that ‘top ten favorite ….’ lists can differ wildly depending on where you are and how your feeling. For the record this isn’t an all time favorite list because if I ever made an all time list i’d have to stop watching movies and i’m not ready to do that.

  • River Street

Released in 1996 Directed by Tony Mahood & starring Aden Young, Bill Hunter & Essie Davis

I originally brought my VHS copy of River Street from a video store sale in Green Square in Kingston. I love what this has to say about friendship and I adore the final sequence of the movie.
  • Phenomenon

Released in 1996 Directed by Jon Turteltaub & starring John Travolta, Kyra Sedgwick & Forest Whitaker.

The shave and a haircut scene. enough said.
  • Star Wars: A New Hope

My big Sister first showed me this when I was about 3 years old.
  • Hercules Returns

Released in 1993 Directed by David Parker & starring David Argue, Michael Carman, Mary Coustas & Bruce Spence.

A movie within a movie. Because of this I have a slight soft spot for parody dubbed movies.
  • Just Write

Released in 1997 Directed by  Andrew Gallerani & Stars Sherilyn Fenn, Jeremy Piven & JoBeth Williams.

Probably one of the first romantic movies that a teenage me liked.
  • Simildo

    Released in 2003 Directed by Kang Woo-suk & Starring Ahn Sung-ki, Sul Kyung-gu & Huh Joon-ho.

Apparently based on a true story. One way to look at Silmildo is that if the dirty dozen took a wildly different turn.
  • Bootmen

Released in 2000 directed by Dein Perry & starring  Adam Garcia, Sophie Lee and Sam Worthington.

Great soundtrack and the final performance is definitely worth watching.
  • Live-Action Asterix & Obelix movies

Mission Cleopatra released in 2002 directed by Alain Chabat & starring Gérard Depardieu &  Christian Clavier

At the Olympic Games released in 2008 co–directed by Frédéric Forestier and Thomas Langmann Gérard Depardieu & Clovis Cornillac

I loved how both movies brought a comic book vibe to live action.
  • Backyard Ashes

released in 2013 directed by  Mark Grentell & starring Andrew Gilbert & Felix Williamson.

    wildly hilarious.
  • The Boondock Saints

Released in 1999 directed by Troy Duffy starring  Willem Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, David Della Rocco, and Billy Connolly.

    The action sequences were brilliant.
