Rick Penning losses his position rugby union team when he is sentenced to a boys’ Juvenile Detention Center in Salt Lake City. He ends up playing for the Highland high school rugby team in the national championships against his old team, which is coached by his father.
For the past month I have been looking forward to watching this movie. Sadly I was dissapointed by this movie as it really didn’t live up to the expectations that I had for it. That plot was cliched at best considering that it has been thousands of times before by countless sports movies. Tragically the rugby that was played in this movie really wasn’t that impressive and that really let down the overall tone of the movie. And as for Sean Faris, well I hope to see him in more dramatic roles. I’ll be sure to look to any of previous films when I get the chance. Despite all of this the message that Forever Strong was trying to get across about life and what it means to be a man, ensures that this movie is not a complete write-off.
