A decade after a tragic mistake, family man Chas and occult investigator John Constantine set out to cure Chas’s daughter Trish from a mysterious supernatural coma. With the help of the mysterious Nightmare Nurse, the influential Queen of Angels, and brutal Aztec God Mictlantecuhtli, the pair just might have a chance at outsmarting the demon Beroul to save Trish’s soul.

For those of you who might be wondering City of Demons is the feature length release of the first five episodes of a web series Constantine: City of Demons that was released back in March of this year. It is also set fictional universe as the 2017 animated film Justice League Dark.

It really does seem that characters like Venom and Constantine are keeping me from tapping out and no longer bothering with the comic book genre. The frequency of releases is what gets to me at times, I really would like to see that the filmmakers either pump the breaks on the production and concentrate on give us some quality movies or failing that give the viewing public a few more anti-heroes Like John Constantine. Though I suppose it could argued Constantine is possibly a bigger asshole then most anti-heroes in the various comic book universes.
Given the plot City of Demons did not come across as a dark as it could have been. Given its link to the 2014 live action series I liked Constantine’s character was further fleshed out to non-comic book fans and showed what happened to Constantine in Newcastle.

It was good to see that Matt Ryan reprised his duties as the voice of Constantine I also kind of enjoyed Jim Meskimen’s performance as Beroul. I really liked the Queen of Angels character. The character is an interesting way to think of a city. Given that Ryan is credited with 10 episodes with this series and with this feature length release I have essentially just binge-watched the first five episodes of the series I am curious to see how what I hope is the series’ first season wraps up.
