A father moves his young family to the countryside to renovate and re-open a struggling zoo.
Movies that are based on a true story always prove to be interesting to watch. However, even if you vaguely familiar with the story that this movie is based on you will soon realise that dramatic liberties have been taken with the story, though the cynic in you might say that those liberties where taken to pander to the American market.
We Brought a Zoo has all the sugary sweetness that you need every once in awhile to help protect you from becoming bitter and cynical. However, with that sugary sweetness comes, the danger of having a predictable movie, something the filmmakers flirted with for the entire movie. Young actor Maggie Elizabeth Jones gave a brilliant performance and had an amazing on screen presence beyond her years.
