Okay, from memory the last Disney Live Action Remake I watched was Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens back in 2017 and  yes it left something of a bad taste in my mouth so for the past 8 years I’ve been avoiding  Disney Live Action Remake. After watching the trailer for this version of LILO & Stitch and realising how cute this movie was I knew that I had to sit down and watch. Though I don’t remember how long of a run this had at the cinema but if I had access to ‘Rent-A-Kid’ (forcing younger nieces or nephews to go to the movies so that you can watch movies you secretly want to see) I might have gotten around to watching this sooner and I might have to take a look at the animated original, again. For those of you who might be interested  Chris Sanders, the director, writer, and story creator of Lilo & Stitch (2002), reprises his role as Stitch. While Tia Carrere, the original voice of Nani Pelekai in Lilo & Stitch (2002), is cast in this film as Mrs. Kekoa, a new character.
I thought that the sequence where Sitch crash landed on earth was hilarious and I found that for some reason Lilo feeding a fish reminded me of Paddington Bear and marmalade sandwiches.                                      It would have been nice to see Ving Rhames, who played Cobra Bubbles in the original animated film appear in the movie. Rhames was reportedly offered a cameo role in this film, but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025), which ended up being released on the same day as this film. I’m not overly familiar with Courtney B. Vance’s work. Vance’s performance as Bubbles seemed to lack the menace of the animated Bubbles and seemed a little more intelligent in the way he did things. Considering that this was her first movie role I hope that Maia Kealoha gets to act in more movies in the future.Billy Magnussen and Zach Galifianakis were great comedic duo as Pleakley and Dr. Jumba.
