A rogue Multiverse agent goes on a manhunt for alternate versions of himself, getting stronger with each kill. Only the last version of himself, an LASD cop, can stop his crusade before he becomes “The One”.
Sitting here watching had me wondering about the ‘bullet time’ effect considering things like what was the first movie to feature the effect? And when did the effect become popular with movie going audiences? It wasn’t until I finished that i remembered that The Matrix was released 2 years before The One and realised that The Matrix is credited with some of that. As Sci-Fi Action movies go The One it is a brilliant ‘beer and pizza’ movie it’s a deep movie without the need for an understanding of Astrophysics. This was released a couple of years before Jason Statham arrived as an action star. Statham was great in his role opposite screen icon Jet Li. I loved Li’s fight sequence against himself. The fight sequence is almost as iconic as his fight with Jackie Chan in The Forbidden Kingdom. Though I’m certain that I have not seen many movies featuring Delroy Lindoy I find that I usually his performances and I find that he has a voice that commands attention.
