A SWAT compound comes under fire from an international terrorist who relentlessly and violently pursues a mystery man who was apprehended by Seattle SWAT after a raid went horribly wrong.

Okay, before we get to far into things there is a little bit of history the franchise is based on the TV series S.W.A.T from 1975 that was created by Robert Hamner. This was followed up in 2003 with a movie of the same name starring Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, and a direct-to-video sequel followed in 2011 titled, S.W.A.T.: Firefight directed by Benny Boom. Also, another television S.W.A.T series has recently premiered in America starring Shemar Moore.

Of the S.W.A.T sequels this is the only movie that I have been compelled to post a review, it should be noted that both Firefight and Under Siege are sequels in name only having no direct link to the movie that was released in 2003. Given the quality of both the movies it’s probably a good thing given that the ’03 movie was actually cool (it stars Samuel L. Jackson case closed).
The plot for Under Siege really is not anything special and there really wasn’t any decent performances though there were a few familiar faces most notable of which was Michael Jai White. Given that the movie’s runtime was under 90 minutes It seemed a little self-indulgent on the part of the filmmakers dedicated so much time to the action sequences. Granted this is an action movie but with the action genre filmmakers need to find the balance between action and plot development. Unfortunately, this was not achieved with S.W.A.T: Under Siege.
