I know I’ve said this a lot but going to say this again I’m over the age of 30 I really should give up watching teen movies. I suppose the only reason that I actually took the time to watch this was that considering YouTube Red was involved with the production of the movie, I’ve lost count of the number of times that I have I seen the preview for this before a YouTube video. The only promising thing about The Thinning was the basic premise of its plot, being that due to overpopulation the world’s governments had to thin the planet’s population. The filmmakers seemed that they did not know what they were doing and to be honest The Thinning could not have been a more cliched movie if it tried, I mean it is okay for a movie to have a sad ending, but I suppose if that happened the filmmakers would have screwed themselves out of a potential trilogy. I can only hope that the executives in charge of the production of The Thinning decide not to inflict a sequel on the world. I get that Logan Paul is a massive internet sensation and has the look of a movie star but here is the thing at this point in time Logan lacks the ability to give a decent performance.
