Airport Bus Route for Canberra

The first Transport Canberra buses commenced servicing the terminal at Canberra Airport today, providing frequent and affordable public transport for Canberrans and visitors, seven days a week.
“In another improvement to Canberra’s public transport network, I’m excited to announce that buses will begin servicing Canberra Airport’s passenger terminal from today. Customers now have access to public transport from the City to the Canberra Airport, with services running about every half hour or better during peak times on weekdays, and every hour on weekends. From the City people, will be able to continue on to all other regions,” said Minister for Transport and City Services Meegan Fitzharris.
Minister Fitzharris explained that travel to and from the terminal has been enabled by the extension of bus Route 11, which now stops at Canberra Airport via Brindabella Business Park and return. Additional services have also been introduced (Route 11A) that will service Canberra Airport (via Russell) and return, which will also run on weekends. The Minister added that this new service gives people more options when travelling to and from Canberra Airport, and has been implemented following talks with the Canberra Airport and feedback from the community.
Canberra Airport’s Managing Director, Stephen Byron, said the buses would provide an alternative mode of transport for incoming passengers or those departing from the city. “The buses will provide 64 services each week day, 26 services on a Saturday and 24 on Sundays between the terminal and the city, and we are delighted,” Mr Byron said. “This will be particularly welcomed by our low-cost carrier passengers, who will be well serviced for departures and arrivals.”
“To travel just use your MyWay card or pay a cash fare to the driver as usual when boarding. A single adult trip when paying cash will cost $4.80 with cheaper fares for students and children. Significant savings can be made when travelling with MyWay,” Minister Fitzharris said.
