Hidden deep beneath a suburban home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, Gru is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the irresistible will of three little orphan sisters, Margo, Edith and Agnes, who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

I have never really been that much of a fan of Steve Carrell’s work, but I was impressed with his performance as Gru. Despicable Me, like most family movies there was that slightly formulamatic feeling. However, there were many adorable moments and characters, particularly Gru’s minions.
There seemed to be on overwhelming sense of the Road Runner and Coyote throughout the entire movie with the characters of Gru and Vector, which seemed to form the basis for a lot of the jokes throughout the entire movie. Yes the adults might find this movie to be a little to predictable, but I really loved the message about the importance of family. Also be sure to watch the mini movies that are in the DVD extras.
